Patience

We all want goodness in life; it is human nature. Most of the time, especially in my case, it is hard to have patience for goodness to happen. It is easy to get impatient and try to force something that isn’t meant to be, yet. In today’s society, patience has become less common because of the ways that inventions have spoiled us. For example, on Amazon you can buy anything, and in some cases, can come to you on the same day! These sorts of things lead us (especially me) away from the art of being patient.
Recently I have learned that the very best things in life come with being patient. I have been house hunting for quite some time now and have missed out on a lot of houses due to the competitive nature of the house market as of late. We were very close to getting a few houses but didn’t want to over-extend ourselves to get them and we decided to be patient. It was a God thing, because soon after we lost out on these houses, my husband had to find a new job, which took longer than expected. If we were to get into a house and that had happened, we would have found ourselves in some trouble. God had our plan set all along and we have had to be patient in seeing that plan come through. The main point is that once we find the house for us, it is going to be the most wonderful thing, and most importantly it will be the right timing.
This same idea can also apply to the job market. To get your dream job, most likely it will not happen overnight. It may take years to gain the experience needed to get into a job you want and the pay you want. It’s very easy to compare yourself to others without realizing that other people have had to go through what you are going through to get where they are now. It takes patience and hard work, but it is a beautiful thing once you get there. The patience hard work are what make the best things in life that much sweeter.
