Gratitude

Time passes by so quickly before you even realize it. By the time I am writing this, it is the end of September, and I could have sworn it was just January. So many things have happened in the month of September, and it has made me realize how fast time can pass, and in that span of time how easy it is to take life for granted.
As humans, especially in today’s society, we get so comfortable in our normal routines in our everyday lives. Once something happens that changes that normal, it’s easy to look back and think about what we took for granted. So many of us have so much to be grateful for but it’s very easy to get wrapped up in the future and what we could have that we don’t.
This month really has put life into perspective for me and that makes me grateful. Everything happens for a reason; big events have the potential to shift our perspective to realize what we should be grateful for. For example, for most of us, it’s hard to get out of bed early and get to work but now I realize how grateful I am to have a job at a good company and be healthy enough to be able to go to work every day. Sometimes, I think we all need a reminder that opens our eyes to have gratitude for the lives we have.
