"God is Not Always Fast, but Often Sudden"

ree

One Sunday at Church the priest talked is his homily about how, “God is not always fast, but often sudden”. This really made me reflect on my life and all the amazing opportunities that have come my way so far this year. After reflecting, I was better able to understand the truth in the statement. Good things will come through hard work, trust in ourselves, and trust in God. God is always there listening and watching over us even when we do not believe he is.

I am very fortunate to have amazing parents who instilled in me from a young age that nothing is given in life. If you want something, you better work for it. I am very grateful they taught me the importance of hard work. Lately, I’ve noticed my hard work paying off in various ways in my life. When my priest spoke of, “God is not always fast, but often sudden”, I thought a lot about this past year. Just in these past six months, I have had so many good things come from all the years of hard work. Every obstacle I have pushed myself to overcome has been worth it. God was always there listening and watching over me. I am so happy I had the strength and support of family to keep chasing my dreams no matter how far away they seemed. I am grateful for the amazing opportunities my hard work has earned me so far. Between reflecting on my life and the homily from mass, it encourages me to continue to work hard and earn my goals.

I chose to write about this topic to remind others that we are never alone. There is a point and purpose in everything we do, and success will follow hard work. If you start to lose motivation or feel your hard work is pointless, please remember everything happens for a reason. You may not see achievements now, but they will come. Hard work does not go unnoticed. We just have to be patient and trust in God as well as ourselves. “God is not always fast, but often sudden.”
