Every day we encounter all types of people. Personable, intelligent, humorous, engaging, heartfelt, encouraging,…to summarize, “just a joy to be around.” I have an appreciation for each one of those qualities because they are vital for positive social interactions. Recently, I encountered someone who came across as the opposite of positiveness and it reminded me how much I valued those traits I listed above and what a critical component they are to our individual success stories!
I am extremely fortunate to collaborate with some outstanding individuals who possess the majority and/or all the qualities I mentioned above. That’s an ambitious listing and I feel incredibly thankful to collaborate with them every day. It speaks to their character, knowing I could count on them anytime...and that is rare.
So, what is the takeaway in all of this? To have a continued awareness and appreciation of how we respond to others and the value of those interactions! I feel incredibly blessed to work with such highly valued co-workers. Those interpersonal exchanges throughout the day create a lasting impression of the type of people they are, and that’s not soon forgotten in the busyness of my day.
