Pregnancy with Perspective

I am currently 9 months pregnant (really 8 months, 3 weeks, and 6 days at the time of writing this) which means that I have been pregnant for all of 2025 so far. Some would say that my pregnancy wasn’t the most pleasant, but I am also sure that others would say it was better than some.
As I come to the end of my pregnancy, I have learned that doing bookkeeping and data entry for a government contractor is a lot like bringing a child into the world. Both call for patience when the process feels slow, careful attention to small details, and confidence that the work you do now will matter later. Day after day, I record transactions, check figures, and keep the records clean—tasks that rarely draw attention but quietly build the financial foundation for each contract. In the same way a baby grows unseen before birth, the accuracy and consistency in those numbers allow projects to start strong and stay on track. When the results finally show—whether it’s a smooth audit or a successful contract closeout, it becomes clear that the steady, behind-the-scenes work was essential all along.
Now it’s time to prepare for the next step—motherhood and raising a child. Just as I’ve cared for every detail in the books, I know that the same patience and steady effort will guide me through late nights, early mornings, and the many unknowns ahead. The numbers may pause for a moment, but the lessons of consistency and quiet dedication will carry into this new chapter of life.
