Visitor Safety & Security Information

1. Visitor Requirements

On Arrival

• Check in at the front desk / reception and sign the visitor log.

• Wear your visitor badge at all times while on site.

• Remain with your Mettle Ops host or escort at all times.

• Observe all posted signage, warnings, and floor markings.

• Do not enter production or shop areas unaccompanied.

• Report any injuries or accidents, no matter how small, to your host immediately.

 

Photography & Devices

No photos are to be taken without prior authorization.

2.PPE & Area Safety

Specific PPE requirements are determined by the hazards present at the time of your visit. Your Mettle Ops host will clearly communicate any hazard and provide appropriate PPE before you enter the area.

 

Foot Protection — Floor Tape Color Code

Green — Safe, No PPE required.

Yellow / Black — Caution, Hazards may be present. Closed-toed shoes, at a minimum.

Red / Black — Hazards Present, Safety shoes required. Type of safety shoe dependent on area.

 

Conditional PPE

Hearing Protection

Required when noise exposure meets or exceeds 85 dB(A) as an 8-hour TWA. Mandatory at 90 dB TWA or above.

Eye Protection

Safety glasses required whenever there is a risk of flying debris, particles, or chemical/liquid splashes.

Head Protection

Hard hats required any time there is a risk of falling objects or overhead hazards.

3.Emergency Procedures

Call 911 immediately, then notify your host

Fire Evacuation

• If an alarm sounds or evacuation is announced, calmly exit through the nearest marked exit with your host.

• Evacuation assembly point: across the street from the building.

• Do not re-enter the building until cleared by Mettle Ops staff or emergency responders.

 

Severe Weather

Proceed with your host to the designated shelter-in-place area. Shelter locations are building-dependent — confirm with your host where they are located.

4.Hazardous Materials

Mettle Ops maintains a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) file for all hazardous materials identified and used on site.

• Visitors and contractors may not bring chemicals or hazardous materials onto the premises without prior authorization.

• Any chemicals brought on-site for authorized work must be identified to your host before entering the facility.

 

Spill Response

• If you witness or cause a spill of any kind, notify your host or any Mettle Ops staff member immediately.

• Do not attempt to clean up a spill yourself unless trained and directed to do so.

• Do not block emergency exits, eyewash stations, or spill kits.

 

Housekeeping & Environment

• Please dispose of waste in the correctly labeled containers.

• Report any environmental concerns (spills, leaks, unlabeled containers) to your host.

Mettle Ops Policy

Safety Policy

Mettle Ops is committed to providing a safe and healthful work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. Management is responsible for establishing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable OSHA and MIOSHA regulations.

All employees are expected to follow established safety rules, participate in required training, properly use provided personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses. Safety is a condition of employment at Mettle Ops.

 

Management will ensure that hazards are identified and controlled using the hierarchy of controls, that employees are trained and competent for their assigned tasks, and that safety concerns are addressed promptly without fear of retaliation.

Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in corrective action, up to and including disciplinary action.

Mettle Ops will meet or exceed our customers' requirements in quality. The organization provides our employees and customers with continual improvement of our processes and quality system. The measures of this commitment are linked to the Quality Objectives, as established by the CEO of Mettle Ops and are communicated to all staff.
